Crane Hobson was founded in 1977 as a general recruiting firm. In 1991 we “discovered” the Point of Purchase Industry while recruiting a controller for one of our clients. We fell in love with the industry and decided to shift our business model. We divested ourselves of the general recruiting practice and have focused solely on the Shopper Marketing industry since 1991.

Today Crane Hobson develops markets strictly in the Shopper Marketing, Point-of-Purchase Display (POP) and Fixture industries that is all we do. We are well respected throughout the Industry with an in house developed data base in excess of 11,500 people. We respect and value the clients and candidates we serve. Crane Hobson is the Industry leader a boutique search firm.

Crane Hobson History

Founded in 1977Crane Hobson was originally a contingency based recruiting firm specializing in the Accounting / Financial Services professions.

1988: We developed a division offering our services to the P.O.P. Industry on a retained search basis. Our first search assignment was for a major display company seeking a VP of Sales and Marketing. Using the same methods that brought us great success over our first eleven years in the business, we quickly gained the reputation within the P.O.P. Industry as a professional firm with the passion, desire and ability to perform our service in an efficient manner and within tight time frames.

1991: We spun off the Accounting Search division and have since devoted our practice to the P.O.P., Fixturing, and Trade Show Industries. We have developed an extensive International and Domestic database to leverage with the initial segment of most searches and have established a strong business relationship with most of the industry talent resources based on mutual respect, industry knowledge and a an excellent reputation.

Throughout the years we have developed business relationships with many of the major firms, as well as the emerging companies desiring to grow in this highly competitive market place.

2000 – Crane Hobson expands into the Chicago market place.
In order to accommodate business growth in the mid west, we opened our second office in Chicago to better service our Chicago and Milwaukee based client. Our Chicago office is well equipped to satisfy the requirements of our ever expanding west coast client base.

Our growing staff of twelve recruiting professionals average 15 years in the recruiting industry.
